Back to school!

10 Feb 2012 9:53 AM - Backpacks don't have to be a pain in the neck!

Back To School: With most Melbourne schools going back this week, now is a good time to remember that around 90% of school students have bad posture as a result of their school bags. Poor posture is closely associated with low energy and is a pre-cursor to a range of health complaints from back pain to spinal damage. To avoid this, you should ensure the bag fits your child, is not too heavy, is packed correctly and is carried correctly (i.e. not like the 'cook kids'- over one shoulder or in one hand).

For more information on backpacks, download the Chiropractor's Association of Australia's Factsheet HERE or ask Dr Dominic Flynn or Dr Sam Harman when you and your child visit us next.
